A New Chapter: From Scotland to Stowe
Share
This isn’t a goodbye forever — just a see you later.
After several inspiring years in Scotland, I’ve now made the move south to England and taken up a new post at Stowe — surrounded by the world-famous Stowe Gardens. It’s a setting unlike any other: sweeping parkland, classical monuments, and a landscape that feels both curated and wild. Every path seems to lead to a new perspective, and already I can sense how this place will shape my work moving forward.
In Scotland, my focus had turned to mapping — exploring how people travel from all corners of the world to experience golf in its purest form. Those pilgrimages, and the landscapes they unfolded across, offered a rich source of inspiration. The golf courses there are deeply embedded in the land and the culture, shaped by centuries of weather, stone, and sea.
Now, in England, I’m excited to explore how golf interacts with a different kind of landscape — one defined by rolling parkland, manicured forms, and designed beauty. The relationship between nature and human intention feels distinct here, and I’m looking forward to translating that difference into my artistic practice.
This move also marks the start of some new ways of working. I’ll be experimenting with fresh approaches to mapping, layering, and composition — looking at how structure and spontaneity can coexist within the same visual language. There’s something about change that reawakens curiosity, and this feels like the perfect moment to push my practice further.
Of course, there will still be regular trips back to Scotland — plenty of paintings, prints, and new golf courses still to explore. The north continues to hold creative weight for me, and its rugged character remains an important thread in my work.
For now, though, Stowe is home base — a place full of history, inspiration, and potential. A new chapter begins, and I’m excited to see where the journey leads.
